URBSAF Endow Iowa Fund
Please Note: The Urbandale Schools and Alumni Foundation has established an endowment fund for building a living financial legacy in support of activities of URSBAF, including student scholarships, educator grants and alumni connections. Funds are spent as determined by the URBSAF Board of Directors. Contributions to the URBSAF Endow Iowa Fund are eligible for a 25% Endow Iowa Tax Credit and limited to an annual distribution rate of 5%. If you would like to contribute to this fund, please click here and you will be taken to the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines website to process your donation.
Class of 1972 Endowment
Are you an Urbandale High School Class of 1972 graduate? Consider making a contribution toward the Class of 1972 Endowment! No matter the amount of contribution, your generosity and help will better the lives of thousands of Urbandale students and their families for years to come.
United Way
In May 2015, the Urbandale Schools and Alumni Foundation was approved by United Way as a Donor-Directed entity. As a United Way Partner, we are able to receive donor-directed contributions through United Way of Central Iowa.
Corporate Matching Gifts
Many employers generously offer matching gift programs to benefit local public schools. Because URBSAF is a tax-exempt organization under the provisions of IRS code 501(c)(3), we are able to receive matching contributions from employers. Some of the companies that make matching donations include:
- MidAmerican Energy
- Pioneer Hi-Bred
- Principal Financial Group
- Wells Fargo
The requirement for the matching portion of a contribution varies by employer. Employees wishing to donate to support our mission should send their contribution, along with their employer’s completed Matching Gift Application/Grant Form to URBSAF. We will certify the gift and file for the matching funds to the appropriate institution.
If the matching institution is not one of the above listed companies, the donor is asked to provide a copy of their company’s program requirements. Matching funds will be handled in compliance with the company’s program.
MidAmerican Energy
Gifts from $25 to $1,500 per calendar year will be matched. Unless instructed otherwise by the donor, all matching grants will have the same restrictions as the original gift.
Pioneer Hi-Bred International
Gifts from $25 to $3,000 per calendar-year will be matched. The matching contribution is in support of the general operating fund of the non-profit organization.
Principal Financial Group
Gifts made to K-12 public education foundations will qualify for a matching grant between $50 and $500 per year. All matching grants will be unrestricted.
Wells Fargo
Wells Fargo allows employees to designate contributions to local schools during their Annual Giving/United Way Campaign. This may be a one time donation or may be collected through payroll deduction. The Wells Fargo Foundation matches the employee’s contribution through its Educational Matching Gift Program. Any employee wishing to donate directly to URBSAF may do so at any time during the year. Gifts from $25 to $6,500 will be matched.
The Wells Fargo Foundation does not allow the individual contributor to designate the matching portion of their gift. URBSAF is required to hold any matching amounts received in its general fund for the unrestricted benefit of all educators and students in the district.
Any contribution received directly from a Wells Fargo employee must be accompanied by a completed Educational Matching Gift Program Donation Form. We will then certify the contribution and file for the appropriate match.
